Quantifying texture in PET/CT images, TexRAD Lung can reveal information about the complexity of lung tumours which cannot be gathered by visual assessment alone. TexRAD Lung provides radiologists, clinicians and medical researchers with a non-invasive imaging biomarker. TexRAD Lung is CE marked for clinical use in the EU.

TEXRAD LUNG APPLICATION

TexRAD Lung is a standalone software tool which performs texture analysis in patients with lung cancer using previously acquired PET/CT images. 

TexRAD Lung can easily integrate within your institute’s existing imaging infrastructure without the need for any hardware modifications.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Send PET/CT images from PACS to TexRAD Lung
  • TexRAD Lung automatically processes PET/CT images:

a. Lung field is identified on CT image

b. Areas of high FDG uptake on PET image used to define region of interest in CT image

c. TexRAD algorithm extracts texture features from region of interest in CT image

  • Results sent back to PACS for review

The TexRAD algorithm processes regions of interest to create virtual histogram plots based on the distribution of the number of pixels vs pixel intensity. Parameters of the histogram are the basis for the calculated TexRAD values.
